The rooftop pool had stunning views and the perfect vibe for lounging! I loved the clean, modern rooms and the friendly staff went above and beyond. Happy hour was a blast, especially with that mouthwatering chicken banh mi!
Couldn't recommend more! ❤️😊

The location is super convenient for catching the Metro. The rooftop view is a stunning slice of the city, and the staff is generally friendly and helpful.
The pool is always packed with people and isn't great for swimming.

The rooftop pool offers a great view and relaxing vibe. Check-in was frustrating due to payment issues and a strict policy.

The bunk beds were sturdy and surprisingly comfortable, with individual reading lights and two outlets per bed. I appreciated the privacy curtains, which blocked out the bright light from the large window. The shared bathroom was clean, thanks to considerate roommates. the room had a noticeable musty smell that was quite off-putting. The noise from the street was distracting, even with the windows closed. It was also frustrating that there was no fridge or cold water option in the shared area. there were some positives, but a few issues hindered the experience.

The staff were super friendly and helped me with everything I needed! The breakfast was solid, lots of options and good coffee.
It wasn't cheap, but considering the amenities, it felt fair.

Hostels often have a reputation for mediocrity, but this one exceeds expectations. Great value, with a prime downtown location near Whole Foods and Target. The bed offered enough comfort for decent sleep, and the room showcased thoughtful touches like window seats. Clean facilities and friendly staff stand out, along with the powerful shower. a longer curtain would prevent water from pooling on the floor. The gym has a unique ambiance but could use some sprucing up. Room for improvement lies in the thin bedding and sluggish elevator, plus the wi-fi connection could be stronger. A common room would enhance the experience. Worth considering for your next trip.

I got hit with unexpected surcharges at the rooftop bar—like $30 more for service and health fees! No one mentioned it, and it felt super sneaky. Definitely soured my experience, making me rethink spending money there again.

I chose Freehand for its prime location near Dodger Stadium, and I was pleasantly surprised by the epic evening of decadence at the lobby bar, Rudolphs. The menu at The Exchange offers a vivid array of colorful salads, catch-of-the-day fish, and a variety of Nicaragua's finest coffees, making it a standout dining experience. The property's amenities, including digital radios, 43-inch TVs, and a hanging basket of snacks, added great value to my stay.
Reservation reduced without forewarning. Housekeeper took property without notice.

loved the vibe at Freehand! the facilities were trendy and lovely. great cafe and restaurant in the lobby, and a cool rooftop pool and bar. perfect central location, close to trendy restaurants and bars. staff were pleasant, and the price for such a location was fantastic. the lobby is beautiful, and the pool area has a great atmosphere. the gym was small but great, and the pool was fantastic and relaxing!
Can honestly say there wasn't anything not to like 🙂

My two-night stay at this downtown gem was a blast! The rooftop pool and lounge had a funky, vibrant atmosphere that added character to the hotel. The location was perfect, just a short stroll from Broadway. The rooftop pool and bar were fantastic, offering breathtaking views both during the day and at night. The room was clean and comfortably furnished, though not super modern. The dormitory was also neat and tidy, with cozy beds and clean bathrooms. The small seating space in the dormitory was a great spot to relax or get some work done. The check-in staff was incredibly helpful, making the whole process a breeze. And of course, the rooftop pool and bar took my stay to the next level, providing awesome vistas of downtown LA.
The only small annoyance was the bedroom lights on a timer. They kept turning off, forcing me to constantly turn them back on when I was in the room in the evening.
